Inseam or Outseam? Which one should I choose?

Why do we offer MENS shorts in both inseam and outseam?

NOTE: Discussion applies ONLY to Men's Shorts. Mens pants and ALL womens shorts sold in INSEAM lengths only.

Surf brands typically size shorts by outseam, while menswear and golf brands size by inseam.

Because shoppers are used to one or the other, we offer both options.

Just choose the measurement you already know — you’ll get the same length either way.

The INseam is that seam on the inside of the leg of shorts or pants that begins at the bottom of the garment (below the fly) and extends to the bottom of the hem  

The OUTseam is that seam on the outside of the leg of shorts or pants that begins at the top of the waistband and extends to the bottom of the hem
